Satisfaction

My pastor reminded me today -

It is very important to be satisfied with where you are and what you have.  I won't go in to all the details of his teachings, but he used Solomon's Ecclesiastes as his inspiration.  Solomon was a powerful and wealthy king, best known for his wisdom.  Although the Book of Proverbs contains great insight from Solomon, Ecclesiastes is the result of introspection and personal reflections on Solomon's pursuit of happiness.

Although there are plenty of nuggets to grasp from Solomon's writings, what stood out to me most from my pastor's presentation is that it is very important to enjoy the now.  I often live with my head in the future, and I know many people that spend much time reliving the past.  So, here is to now

Take in a deep breath, look at the blue sky, white clouds, green foliage; listen to all the great sounds - the birds, the crickets, an owl, a gentle breeze or a brisk wind; snuggle down under the covers in bed at night and take delight in all the things surrounding you.
